Story: Another task I was responsible for as a young designer fresh out of design school, was the development and creation of the Washington Market Tavern identity. It was important the restaurant provided an upscale atmosphere, but also be a relaxing escape that would appeal to the businessman fresh from a hard day's work on Wall Street. The design and brand imagery needed to reflect a sense of mystery and spontaneity that was an everyday experience at the actual Washington Market, one of NYC's largest thriving markets in the 19th century.
